Rabindranath Tagore, the first Asian to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature, is well known for his poetry, but he also produced several other outstanding works such as plays, stories, novels, essays etc. He used to say that after his death people would remember his songs even though his poems or novels may be forgotten. He believed in the power of the song. Sarmila Roy's father, Kshitis Roy was Rabindranath Tagore's right hand man in the latter's later years, and was a writer in his own right, and her mother, Uma Roy was an acclaimed dancer. Sarmila Roy was the top singer at the Tagore Academy.

Schools and colleges give us very limited music education, Giving us a warped perception of music. Traditional ethnic music is forgotten and folk music has lost its past glory. People are only interested in music that has been commercialized. The world of Japanese music has become Westernised to a point that is not seen elsewhere in the world. In order to mend matters even a little, this site intends to introduce the best music from all over the world and to present the creative powers of Toshi Tsuchitori and Harue Momoyama.
